The long, rich history of improv comedy in Salt Lake may not have started here. But few would honestly disagree that Laughing Stock pushed it higher than it had ever been.
Started by a group of friends in the fall of 1994, what was then called Quick Wits was a way to fill the stage at the Off Broadway Theatre between scripted plays.
After all, what could be easier than writing, producing, directing and acting in short form sketches based on the suggestions given by the audience?
Performing as Quick Wits from 1994-2001, the troupe then changed their name to Laughing Stock to avoid confusion with another troupe that had started using their former name.
Over the years, some of the faces have changed, but the goal remains the same... provide unbridled fun and laughter to our audiences.
